Health Fair 2010

The Ghanaian Pharmacists Association of Washington Metro is organizing a health fair as part of the Annual COGA Picnic on September 18, 2010. COGA is the Council of Ghanaian Associations and the annual picnic this year is at Fort Hunt Park in Virginia. In addition to Pharmacists, we hope to have other health-care professionals present to provide screening and health advice. Free services to be provided will include:-

  • Medication Reviews/Brown bagsmeds
  • Nutrition Advise
  • Drug Information
  • Patient Counselling
  • Blood Pressure Monitoring
  • Diabetes Screening
  • etc etc
This is a wonderful way to give back to our Ghanaian community so please come and lets all participate in a successful event.  Ghanaian Pharmacists Association of Washington Metro

The Ghanaian Pharmacists Association of Washington Metro has been formed with the following objectives :-

  1. Encourage professional development and leadership among members through networking and mentor-ship programs;
  2. Organize health awareness events in the community to benefit members of the public especially Ghanaians;
  3. Collaborate with other health-care professionals to deliver health-care and education to impoverished towns and villages in Ghana;
  4. Collaborate with health institutions and pharmaceutical firms in the United States of America (USA) to deliver medical and pharmaceutical supplies to Ghanaian clinics;
  5. Promote support systems for new graduates and Ghanaian pharmacists migrating to the USA;
  6. Work with schools of pharmacy in Ghana on possible exchange programs; and
  7. Keep the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana abreast on the latest emerging trends in Pharmaceutical Care in the USA.

The Association is open to all Ghanaian Pharmacists living in the USA and meetings are held at the Howard University School of Pharmacy in Washington.
